The treacherous character of Knappy Links begins to show itself with the difficult 3rd hole. Only a soft lob to the left center of the green will be going slow enough to catch the hill and go in the hole. A short shot will roll off to the right and leave you a hard-breaking left-to-righter—so be sure to aim far enough left and get it to the hole.

Caddy’s tip: Unless you feel comfortable with left-to-right putts, now’s the time to try to get it in the hole—it’s not likely your opponent will make a 1 and if you go past the hole you have a relatively straight putt up the hill to the opposite hole for your 2. (#3 handicap)
