Knappy Links, my backyard golf course, consists of one green with four holes and nine tee boxes. Players chip from each tee box to a specific hole on the green.

“Par” for each hole is set at 3, for a total par of 27. Although every hole has been aced numerous times, it is not always easy to get a 2 or even a 3. Three is about average, hence par 3.

The official competition course record is a 5-under 22 by Chris Donohue in 2001.
